Das Buch ist Streckenweise unterhaltsam. Frau Gilbert plappert aber allzu oft einfach vor sich hin. Als ihr Lektor hätte ich das Buch etwa um die Hälfte gekürzt und es so auf das Wesentliche reduziert. Ausserdem fand ich, hätte man um Woody Allen zu zitieren, sehr oft "Klischee" schreien können. Besonders unerträglich ist, wenn eine Amerikanerin einem als Europäerin erklärt wie Italien funktioniert. Ich würde dieses Buch deshalb nur sehr bedingt empfehlen.

wenn ich jemals eine solche schlimme zeit wie die autorin im buch beschreibt durchmachen sollte, dann würde ich genauso handeln um zu mir selbst zurückzufinden. das buch ist also sehr realistisch, nachfühlbar und wunderbar inspirierend in bezug auf erste erfahrungen mit meditation und selbsterfahrung. natürlich ist das ende sehr, sehr "happy" da die autorin dann sogar noch die neue liebe findet, aber das stört nicht weiter. einen punkt abzug gibt es für die manchmal ausschweifenden, langen detailierten beschreibungen. im großen und ganzen ist es aber ein sehr interessantes, unterhaltsames buch. das letzte kapitel ließ meinen eigenen besuch in bali und die vertrauten orte wieder lebhaft werden. ich wurde auch angeregt mich für medidation zu interessieren und mein yoga zu vertiefen. der stil schafft den spagat zwischen informativ und äußerst humorvoll.

Fist I was sceptic, because of those three big words, three big topics in one book. But when I started reading it, I loved it very much after the first two or three pages. Of course, love plays the biggest part in the book, especially the lost love and how to get along after a terrible marriage and the unredimable loss of the biggest love ever. Gilbert shares the secrets of her heart together with all the new experiences in a very open, very honest way. It's not an easy-to-read-book, but it's much better. It resembles life, sometimes very dark, sometimes very happy.

Eat, pray, love ist eine wunderbare Reiselektüre, vor allem für Frauen 30+. Man wird auf sehr unterhaltsame Weise dazugebracht über das eigene Leben, Sinn, Ziel, Gott und Zukunft nachzudenken. Und gleichzeitig ist es so lustig und wunderbar schnell zu lesen.
Besonders auch für Leute die Italien, Indien oder Indonesien mögen. Ich hab das Buch am Flughafen auf dem Heimflug gekauft und es war für mich das Richtige um das Urlaubsgefühl zu verlängern und von einer Weltreise zu träumen.

Nicht's für Atheisten und Agnostiker

Ich bin eher zufällig über dieses Buch gestolpert und habe es irrtümlich für so etwas wie ein Reisetagebuch gehalten. Leider erzählt die Autorin mehr von ihrer Reise ins Ich und nicht so sehr von den Ländern die sie bereist hat. Für mich als Agnostiker / Atheist waren viele Dinge absolut nicht nachvollziehbar und ich musste oft den Kopf schütteln über ihre spirituellen Erfahrungen, die ihrer Meinung nach von einer wachsenden Verbindung mit Gott kommen, für mich jedoch eher erklärlich durch Schlafmangel, harte körperliche Arbeit und eine bestimmte Diät sowie Wunschdenken sind. Aber jedem das Seine. Als positive Seite des Buches kann ich aufführen, dass die Lektüre trotz vieler Kopfschüttel-Momente eher kurzweilig war und die Selbstironie der Autorin mich oft zum Schmunzeln gebracht hat. Dennoch werde ich das Buch wohl bei der nächsten Gelegenheit meiner Bücherei spenden, denn nochmal werd ich mir das Ding wohl nicht antun. Mein Fazit: Dieses Buch ist etwas für spirituell interessierte Menschen die vielleicht schon mal einen Yoga-Kurs, Selbstfindungskurs, Meditationskurs o.ä. gemacht haben und von der Existenz eines höheren Wesens überzeugt sind. Für Atheisten und desillusionierte Realisten ist es bestenfalls amüsant, schlimmstenfalls einfach langweilig.

Napoleon Hill was thus launched on the adventure of a lifetime that led to this intriguing book. In the book, Hill distills what each person had to say into simple concepts for setting goals, staying focused on them, and being persistent.

Napoleon Hill does not lay it all out in the way that modern "get rich now" writers do. He wants to leave room for you to discover what he has learned in the interviews for yourself. You will learn better and remember the lessons longer that way.

Some of the key points involve tales of overwhelming commitment to a goal. He then talks about the ways that people have reinforced these goals. The book deliberately leaves it unclear how much this goal setting and focus succeeds because of your concentration and how much because of human mental powers of some undefined sort. That source of success is beside the point, because if you do what Napoleon Hill suggests, I believe that you will have remarkable success in your life.

More recent research with young people shows that those who accomplish the most in their lives are those who have written goals at a fairly young age, and continue to focus on those goals. The point: Without goals, most people wander around aimlessly and accomplish less than their full potential. This does not mean that you have to work any harder or longer to be successful (although your commitment may encourage that). It does mean that your life will be much more purposeful.

I heartily subscribe to that belief. Whenever I have had firm goals, progress has been rapid. Exceed those goals, and progress stalls until new goals are set and pursued.

Another reason for reading this book is because you will meet many people in your life who will have read and used this process to accomplish a great deal in their own lives. Your ability to form valuable alliances with these people will be increased by your understanding of this book.

Unlike many positive thinking books, Think and Grow Rich is based on actual experiences of people whom many would like to emulate. The experiences that are shared here are all ones that you can follow. For example, if you would really like to have Bill Gates as your business partner without investing any money, you can see how people did this who wanted to have a partnership with Thomas Edison.

If nothing else, you will uncover whether or not you have the dedication it takes to create astonishing wealth through concentrating your mind on your goals. If relaxing on the beach sounds good to you as you think about creating wealth, this methodology is not for you.

If you find that you do not understand Napoleon Hill's message, feel free to read any of his later books. He lays out the key points in great detail in those.

From the title, you may think that this book will give you a very detailed get-rich process. It is just the opposite. You will still have a lot of work ahead of you to learn how to achieve your goals if you use the Think and Grow Rich principles. Your work will go better because it will be purposeful about something that you care passionately about.

Das Buch Think and Grow Rich ist ein sehr aufschlussreicher Ratgeber für all diejenigen, die sich ihre Träume erfüllen wollen. Es ist dabei eigentlich unwichtig, ob Geld im Zentrum der Aufmerksamkeit steht, denn das Wort Geld kann hier mit einer anderen Vokabel vertauscht werden, nämlich Reichtum. Was jedoch ist Reichtum, sicherlich kann dieser auch in Zahlen angegeben werden, das Entscheidende jedoch ist der Erfolg, der jeder Form von selbsterreichtem Reichtum vorausgeht. Erfolgreich Leben will gelernt sein, es ist kein Automatismus, der sich selbst programmiert und zum glücklichen Ziel führt, sondern es ist das, was manche von uns von Kindesalter an haben, es ist das, was manche zu Siegern macht, Persönlichkeit und Charisma verleiht und das Leben dieser Glücklichen sicher leitet. Anderen Menschen wiederrum fehlt diese Magie, doch dies ist kein Grund zu glauben, dies läge in der Natur der Dinge. Vielmehr handelt es sich um eine Verkettung undurchschaubarer Umstände, die oftmals eine Lethargie und Apathie in der Psyche des Betroffenen hinterlassen, diese gilt es nun mit Hilfe guten Willens und dieses Buches zu überwinden.

Anders gesagt, man hätte dieses Buch auch mit der Weg zum Erfolg betiteln können. Im Unterschied zu manch anderen Büchern dieser Sparte begnügt sich dieses Buch nicht nur mit ideologischen Entwürfen, obwohl auch dies zum Teil zu spüren ist, sondern es versucht psychologisch argumentativ vorzugehen. Was muss man beachten, wenn man erfolgreich sein will; was muss man machen, wenn man erfolgreich sein will und schließlich, wie muss man sein, um erfolgreich zu sein. Ja, dieses Buch ist auch ein Persönlichkeitstest per excellence. Dies bedeutet nun, dass man zunächst sich selbst unter die Lupe nehmen muss, um zu verstehen, warum man vielleicht noch nicht das erreichen konnte, was für einen doch als das Wichtigste galt.

Ich empfehle dieses Buch allen Menschen. Meiner Meinung nach ist es wert zu überlegen, ob dieses Buch nicht als Pflichtlektüre in Schulen, Berufsschulen und Universitäten eingeführt werden sollte. Denn etwas, worüber ich noch nicht gesprochen habe, hat dieses Buch. Dieses etwas ist das, was den meisten Theorien und Modellen fehlt, es ist der Impuls, der den lernwilligen Leser zur aktiven Gestaltung seines Lebens bewegt. Aktivität und praktische Umsetzung sind die Leitprinzipien dieses Busches. Jeder der die Courage aufbringen möchte, seine Träume in die Wirklichkeit umzusetzen, sollte dieses Buch kaufen, lesen, nochmals lesen und schließlich danach handeln.

Absolutely Brilliant! Every chapter, every page, every word. Will undoubtedly go down in history as one of the classics of futuristic living. A must have and a must read. Eckhart Tolle bridges the gap between our spirituality and the physical world. Although the teachings are ancient, his words are fresh, alive and very pertinent to our today's relationships to each other and the world. Easy to read, easy to understand, with many examples relating to our everyday lives. You won't be disappointed reading 'The Power of Now'. In fact, this book will most likely transform your world.

I've been looking for this book a long time, down many dead-ends. Usually, "simple" = shallow, and "profound" slides into wordy. The book should be printed highlighted! Every sentence in it is powerful. Direct without being harsh, he makes a lot of our mind-based beliefs look the nonsense they are, and impossible to continue.

This is one of those books when you gain a fuller understanding of the simplicity of enlightenment each time you read it. E.Tolle tries to deliver enlightenment to his readers in a way that will not confuse them, by bringing you constantly back to the now moment, where enlightenment is to be found. He gives some examples of how to do this in a practical way. Some parts of it are a little hard to grasp at first, but its mostly an easy book to get your head around, with a lot of deep insights about how to gain true happiness and mental clarity. A good companion for this book would be the more direct book The Awakening of Spiritual Awareness. Both books share the same deep message and combined they hold all you need to know concerning enlightenment.

Nothing in this book has been drastically "new" to me (but, believe me, I'm far from enlightened) but it was good to see it written out on a page as a reminder (and put in words so very well).
Most of us, I belive, probably already *know* the things Tolle writes about deep down inside us but are too lazy or too stressed to act according to what we already know or plain forget that we already know, myself included.

I think enlightenement is not what you'd expect from such a book anyway but some techniques to make you feel better, some teachings that really do work. And they do because what Tolle teaches is the natural state - how things are supposed to be - anyway (I think). It just feels right.

I can highly recommend this book. Read it yourself or give it away as a present !

Despite the fact that Tolle claims to have written this book only upon request from other people, this man, like so many others, seems to have the mission of convincing the world that what worked for him must be the solution to all earthly problems.
Anyhow Tolle's analysis and "method" of getting to the Now is quite powerful, helpful and can in fact change your life to the better.
However, Tolle having found this new focus point in the prsence, now falls into the trap of making it the center of a world view, overly generalizing the results and judging everything from this/his newly aquired standpoint.
He is quick to draw "obvious" conclusions, quote from every monumental book our civilization has brought forth (the Bible, the Koran, the Tao, etc.) and interpreting the quotes within a paragraph in the light or as a proof of the "power of now".
And, like many converts, who have lived through a dramatic turning point in their lives, he is very willing to condemn everything else, and especially everything which actually correlates with his "previous" life, as insane or mad.
This book carries a great message but you will have to be careful to draw your own conclusions and discern the basic truths from the personal problems, which are mainly related to the Tolle-Personality rather than yourself.

"Must-read" - polemisches Atheistisches Manifest mit Witz

Ein umstrittenes Buch (die Diskussion hier ist ein deutliches Zeichen) - doch vor allem ein rational-wissenschaftliches Buch mit Zorn im Leib.

Richard Dawkins ist Evolutionsbiologe und Religionskritiker in Oxford. Dieses Buch schrieb er auch vor dem Hintergrund der sich immer aggressiver gebärdenden "christlichen" Rechten in den USA des George W. Bush: staatliche Gelder werden abgezockt, Wissenschaft behindert, Ärzte erschossen ...

Ja, auch Dawkins hat etwas, wofür er streitet: Vernunft, Rationalismus, Wissenschaft. Das schließt für ihn ein, Religion als negativ zu betrachten, auf jeden Fall, wenn sie intolerant ist, den Diskurs verweigert und einen allmächtigen Gott predigt. Diese christlich-monotheistische Auffassung von Gott setzt er voraus, legt dies aber zuvor offen im Buch dar.

Dawkins sähe eine Erklärung à la "Gottes Wirken" als bequeme Ausrede für mangelnde Forschung. Wenn Wissenschaft es nun einmal einfacher erklären kann, dann ist sie doch vorzuziehen (er zitiert ihn nicht, doch das ist Ockhams "Rasiermesser"). Gottes Existenz ist nur äußerst unwahrscheinlich und natürlich nicht zu beweisen, aber sollte auch nicht mehr angenommen werden (steht so drin im Buch).

Der Inhalt ist bereits zusammengefasst worden. Richard Dawkins' Stil kann in seiner Bissigkeit und Schärfe mit seinem Freund selig, Douglas Adams, weitgehend mithalten. Es ist mit englischem "wit" und hoher Intelligenz geschrieben. Dies heißt allerdings auch, dass auf Empfindlichkeiten keine sonderliche Rücksicht genommen wird.

Einfühlungsvermögen und Gefühl sind Dawkins' Stärke nicht - darum kann das Buch wohl auch keine große missionarische Wirkung entfalten, höchstens Atheisten den Rücken stärken. Das dürfte in den USA eher nötig sein: einen Atheisten will laut Umfragen dort quasi niemand im Weißen Haus. Auch Obama wurde bei seinem Eintritt in die Politik plötzlich zum Kirchgänger.

Hier in Europa herrscht eher eine Art Schwundstufenreligion vor - Dawkins zählt dagegen gnadenlos auf, was Christentum und die beiden anderen Mittelmeermonotheismen eigentlich an skurril anmutenden Glaubenssätzen haben. Sie wurden zwar in den Hintergrund gedrückt, doch würden eigentlich dazu gehören (Jungfrauengeburt etc.). Ja, sie können sogar in unserer Zeit zur Rechtfertigung von Unmenschlichkeit dienen:
Ein mich erschreckendes Beispiel war eine Studie mit über 1000 israelischen Kindern (S. 289-292): Joshuas Dahinmetzeln der Jerichoer samt Vieh wurde von zwei Dritteln ausdrücklich gutgeheißen (arme Palästinenser). Ersetzte man Joshua durch einen "General Lin" im "alten China", war es nur noch jedes vierzehnte Kind einer Kontrollgruppe.

Kritisieren kann man schon auch hier einiges: Dawkins gebärdet sich als Bewusstseinsschaffer für Atheisten, wie es andere für Homosexuelle gewesen seien - das ist in Deutschland schwer nachvollziehbar, wo der Sonntagvormittag allem Möglichen dient, aber nicht dem Kirchgang. Seine ätzende Polemik attackiert religiöse Menschen in eine Verteidigungsstellung hinein, was kaum etwas bringt. Ein Kapitel zu Buddhismus und anderen Religionsformen jenseits eines allmächtigen Gottes wäre das 'Sahnehäubchen' gewesen. Die letzten 20, 30 Seiten zu Wahrnehmungsgrenzen lassen ebenfalls etwas nach.

Und wenn Religion nun einen Evolutionsvorteil hätte, etwa dadurch, dass gruppenkooperatives Verhalten besser funktioniert (Dawkins führt u.a. die "In-Group" Juden an), so käme Dawkins' Buch nach seiner eigenen Logik schwerlich dagegen an, dann müsste er Atheisten eigentlich eher das Kinderkriegen und Zusammenhalten predigen.

Mehr als einen Stern Abzug kann das aber kaum bedeuten: "The God Delusion" sollte genauso gelesen werden wie die Bibel, der Koran oder das Kommunistische Manifest.
Ein guter Kandidat also für das 'Atheistische Manifest' und gut zu lesen.

I think this book is a must read for anybody who wants to understand more about religion in general - not just his/her own religion.
In many ways an eye openener. Highly recommended.

A Good God Book

I ordered this book after a friend of my parents told me I was making a big mistake by turning my back on his God. I decided to read Dawkins book to see what other non-believers in any of the many God's on offer think. This book has confirmed many of my own teenage confused thoughts and after more than 20 years of trying to be objective and interest myself with the various faiths I can confirm that I am definitely an athiest. However what I still do not understand is why such a declaration upsets people who believe in a supernatural being. It seems that a born-again Christian would respect me more if I said I was a Muslim or a Buddist. Why is there no respect and why is one viewed as being suddenly a bad person? Dawkins book offers insight into such questions and many more!

Fundamentalisten jeder Religion und Denkrichtung sind vor allem durch Intoleranz gekenzeichnet. Dazu gegört leider auch Richard Dawkins. Zwar ist die Evolutionstheorie von Darwin ein Faktum, das macht aber seine atheistische Eiferei nicht überzeugender. Dawkins will diese unbedingte Wahrheit auch für die Gene im Hirn des Menschen geltend machen;leider gibt es dafür Null Evidenz.

His arguments are simple yet rigorous, and presented in witty, passionate tone. I myself find common ground with him. Hopefully, his writings will be more accessible to religiously indoctrinated folks in the Middle East.

Es ist gut, ein solches Buch immer und immer wieder zu hören, um den Inhalt zu verinnerlichen.
Die Qualität der Aufnahmen ist gut und das englisch ist trotz australischem und amerikanischem Einschlag gut verständlich. Ich habe erst das Buch gelesen und höre jetzt regelmäßig die CDs, denn man hört jedes Mal andere Schwerpunkte und achtet auf neue Aspekte. Je mehr man die Thematik verinnerlicht, desto besser lässt sie sich im eigenen Leben anwenden. Und es funktioniert tatsächlich!

Gewöhnungsbedürftig

Mir wurde das Buch von mehreren Personen empfohlen, aber auch ich wurde gewarnt: es steht viel Wahres in dem Buch, aber die Art und Weise der Vermittlung ist sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig. Man muss am Ende einfach für sich selbst gucken, was man mitnimmt. Und ich denke, dass jeder etwas darauß mitnehmen kann. Leider ist das Buch sehr "amerikanisch". Es geht vor allem um Geld. Aber das kann man ja ganz gut einfach überspringen.

We were shy about barging in on Randy Pausch's valuable time to ask him a few questions about his expansion of his famous Last Lecture into the book by the same name, but he was gracious enough to take a moment to answer. (See Randy to the right with his kids, Dylan, Logan, and Chloe.) As anyone who has watched the lecture or read the book will understand, the really crucial question is the last one, and we weren't surprised to learn that the "secret" to winning giant stuffed animals on the midway, like most anything else, is sheer persistence.

Pausch: The tumors are not yet large enough to affect my health, so all the problems are related to the chemotherapy. I have neuropathy (numbness in fingers and toes), and varying degrees of GI discomfort, mild nausea, and fatigue. Occasionally I have an unusually bad reaction to a chemo infusion (last week, I spiked a 103 fever), but all of this is a small price to pay for walkin' around.

Pausch: Well, the lecture was written quickly--in under a week. And it was time-limited. I had a great six-hour lecture I could give, but I suspect it would have been less popular at that length ;-).
A book allows me to cover many, many more stories from my life and the attendant lessons I hope my kids can take from them. Also, much of my lecture at Carnegie Mellon focused on the professional side of my life--my students, colleagues and career. The book is a far more personal look at my childhood dreams and all the lessons I've learned. Putting words on paper, I've found, was a better way for me to share all the yearnings I have regarding my wife, children and other loved ones. I knew I couldn't have gone into those subjects on stage without getting emotional.

Pausch: That's a great question. I think the most important thing I learned as I grew older was that you can't get anywhere without help. That strikes me as a pretty good operational answer to the existential question: "What kind of person should you try to be?"

Pausch: Like any teacher, my students are my biggest professional legacy. I'd like to think that the people I've crossed paths with have learned something from me, and I know I learned a great deal from them, for which I am very grateful. Certainly, I've dedicated a lot of my teaching to helping young folks realize how they need to be able to work with other people--especially other people who are very different from themselves.

Actually, I was never good at the milk bottles. I'm more of a ring toss and softball-in-milk-can guy, myself. More seriously, though, most people try these games once, don't win immediately, and then give up. I've won *lots* of midway stuffed animals, but I don't ever recall winning one on the very first try. Nor did I expect to. That's why I think midway games are a great metaphor for life.

Viel zu sagen zu dem Buch ist nicht. Es ist extrem angenehm geschrieben, strotzt vor Lebensweisheiten und ist teils angenehm lustig.
Ich hatte zu erst das Video gesehen und ich muss sagen, daß das Buch trotzdem nochmals eine angenehme Ergänzung darstellt. Ich empfehle generell die englische Version, die auch mit
mittelmässigem Englisch gut zu verstehen ist.

Ein Buch für die Lebenden!

Vieles in der Literatur dreht sich um die mangelnde Wertschätzung der Zeit, die einem gegeben wurde...und berührt einem vielleicht während der Lektüre und dann ist's wieder vergessen.
Dieses Buch schafft nachhaltiges Grübeln über das eigene Verhalten, Umgang mit dem was man hat und wie man es besser machen kann.

Kurz und prägnant geschildert und gerade deshalb genial!

Als ich das Buch angefangen habe zu lesen, wollte ich es gleich 20 mal kaufen, um es allen mir wichtigen und literaturinteressierten Menschen schenken zu können. Ich bin aber aus Kostengründen beim Empfehlen und Verleihen geblieben :)
Ein sehr gut geschriebenes Buch, wer englisch kann, kann sich The Last Lecture bei youtube anhören. Das Buch ist aber besser!!!!!!

This book is a proof that it doesn't take a super-complicated-philosophical book to be inspired, motivated or to look into the meaning of life.
Though simple, this book is "simply" amazing, sincere, thoughtful, touching, and full of wisdom.
Though sad, it is full of optimism. Whether you are a dying patient or a perfectly healthy person, you will feel connected to the author and everyone mentioned in this book.
will it be considered a piece of literature? Not by today's critics. Is it a piece that can affect you one way or the other? Definitely yes, though i know lots of ppl who already think that the whole idea of the book is "i am amazing, and everyone around me is amazing too". But.... think about it that way, what do u expect from someone who is addressing his children and trying to encourage others to live their dreams?
It doesn't have to be a "tragedy" to admire someone's life experience, but unfortunately, this is the case with most of the ppl. who are moved only by traumatic events.
Again, it is simple in a way it will reach everyone yet you have to see beyond "Randy's" story itself. Ask your self, if you are giving the last lecture, what would you say?

Streitschrift statt historisches Werk

Wie stark ist die Kontinuität zwischen den heutigen Juden und speziell den israelischen Juden und den Juden der Antike? Auf diese spannende Frage verspricht Schlomo Steins Buch Antwort zu geben - und scheitert. Der Grund ist simpel: Sand hat über das Thema seines Werkes nie selber geforscht, ist er doch Spezialist für die französische Geschichte des 19. Jahrhunderts. Stattdessen arrangiert er die Früchte einer eher oberflächlichen Recherche in der Sekundärliteratur zu einer gut geschriebenen Streitschrift, die die Kontinuität des Judentums widerlegen soll. Vielleicht ist das so, vielleicht auch nicht. Eine wissenschaftlich fundierte Analyse wie sie ein Universitätsprofessor seinen Lesern schuldet (Sand lehrt Geschichte des 19. und 20. Jahrhunderts an der Universität Tel Aviv) liefert der Autor nicht. Schade, so ist das Buch wertlos, und Zeit und Geld sind vergeudet für ein Pamphlet.

Erfindung des Judenten als Volk

Ich habe einige Male die englische Übersetzung des Buches gelesen. Ich weiß nicht, ob der Autor die Wahrheit erzählt, aber mir scheint, dass er in einigen Fällen keine Belege hat. Man sollte das Buch dennoch lesen,um einen Teil der Wahrheit über das Judentum zu erfahren. Der Autor sagt, daß die Vertreibung der Juden nie stattgefunden hat. Das ist nur ein Märchen, die ein jüdischer Historiker, Heinrich Graetz im 1860 verbreitet worden ist und die Zionisten auf diesen Märchen den Zionismus aufgebaut haben. Viele Veröffenlichtung von Heinrich Graetz wären nur Märchen. Kaufen Sie das Buch. Das Buch dennoch ein Schatz. Das ist sehr empfehlenswert.

There are echoes of DH Lawrence in Coelho's exploration of the sacred and spiritual aspects of sex and it's a brave author who tackles a subject that can so easily slip into strained seriousness. ein unglaublich packedndes buch, das sich in einem rutsch von anfang bis ende lesen läßt, hocherotisch, sinnlich, sexuell... stimmt nachdenklich und gibt tiefe einblicke in die seele einer frau (von einem mann geschrieben!), legt wünsche und sehnsüchte frei, stimmt nachdenklich über fragen der eigenen würde und eigenen grenzen. das buch spricht von willenskraft und ist sehr positiv (manches läuft vielleicht zu glatt: maria macht keine schlechten erfahrungen mit der prostitution, erlebt keine demütigungen, ist immer behütet und verdient unglaublich viel geld). schließlich wird die heldin mit lebensentscheidungen konfrontiert: immer mehr und mehr geld verdienen; den prinzipien treu bleiben; die liebe zulassen; dem schicksal folgen; ...
mein zweites buch von coelho nach "der zahir" (keine leichte kost) hat mich wesentlich mehr gefesselt, fasziniert und überzeugt.

Liebe und Sexualität

Das war mein erstes Coelho Buch, und es wurde mir schon von vielen Freunden empfohlen. Es liest sich sehr schnell und flüssig, ist spannend und erotisch. Mir gefällt, dass der Unterschied zwischen Liebe und Sexualität sehr gut herauskommt; meiner Meinung nach das das zentrale Thema des Buchs. Inhaltlich bewegt sich die Erzählung bis an mögliche "Ränder" von Sexualität und schafft es, alles nachvollziehbar zu erzählen und sogar neugierig zu machen.

Ich konnte beim Lesen nur schwer eine Pause machen, es ist ein ausgezeichneter Unterhaltungsroman. Auf jeden Fall weiterzuempfehlen!

Ich habe dieses Buch auf Empfehlung einer sehr guten Freundin gekauft und war vom ersten Moment an gefesselt. Dieses Buch ist zugleich anziehend und abstossend, deprimierend und erotisch, realistisch und surreal. Was mich am meisten fasziniert: es wurde von einem Mann geschrieben!

Traurig schön - ein weiterer Coelho zum Nachdenken...

11 Minuten - zuerst auf Spanisch, dann auf Englisch und schließlich auf Deutsch gelesen. Ich konnte es drehen und wenden wie ich wollte, aber weglegen konnte ich es nicht. Ein wunderbares Buch für alle, die die Meisterwerke Coelhos kennen und lieben. Nachdenklich hat es vor allem die Männer in meiner Umgebung gemacht, in tiefe Trauer gesunken haben sie mich gefragt, wie es sich anfühle, eine Frau zu sein. Das hat mich nachdenklich gestimmt, und nun weiß ich warum. Ein gutes Buch für alle, die eine Frauenwelt kennenlernen wollen, wie sie vielleicht noch nie gezeigt wurde, einfühlsam, offen, erotisch, ehrlich und einfach beschrieben. Für alle, die die Liebe suchen, sie verloren haben, nie an sie geglaubt und verleugnet haben, oder auch schon gefunden haben. Übermittelt wird auch ein kleiner Eindruck über das Leben in der Schweiz, in der Stadt Genf, die gleichzeitig so lebendig und tot ist.
Du kannst dich in diesem Buch finden oder verlieren, weinen oder lachen, nachdenken oder trauern. Es ist Denkanstoß, Hoffnung, Realität und Traum, wie alle Bücher von Paulo Coelho. Einfach schön.

Die Mappe war der beste Führer, handlich, klar, übersichtlich, ohne immer mitlesen zu müssen. Pilger mit anderen Führern borgten sich meine Karte immer wieder aus, schon allein, weil sie mehrsprachig abgefasst ist. Ganz besonders hilfreich waren die Stellen, die mit einem Rufzeichen versehen sind, denn da war man schon vorgewarnt, besonders aufmerksam zu sein! Auch die Hinweise für Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, bzw für Proviant zu sorgen, weil es solche nicht gibt, waren äußerst hilfreich!
Ich wünschte mir auch von den anderen Caminos solche Maps!
